I will be burying a friend of mine tomorrow! You probably won’t know him, he was just my fiend and an old hot rodder. A great guy that had skills in upholstery and body work, plus making a car go! Most folks will not know him, but I did!

Man, that is tough. Praying for comfort for you and others that are affected by the loss of your friend. I was just reminded of a good friend of mine that was also a hot rodder that passed away just a few years ago.

Sorry for the loss of your friend,

A coworker was out for a week, gave him some guff for a vacation. Said his mom passed. I apologized, gave my condolences, he said “it’s to be expected “. He’s my age. I said “yes, but doesn’t make it easier”.

    Hang in there Bones.

My dad's best buddy just died a few weeks ago. He was an expert wrench. Our carb rebuild guy. He was a staunch Ford guy and my dad is a Chevy guy to the bone. It was funny to listen to them give each other shit about it. We all miss him. I rebuilt an FE Ford motor in a truck project I stumbled into. Wired and fired it but it would barely idle. He happened to drop by my place with my dad that day. I started the truck and let them hear it. He asked if the firing order was right at the distributor. I counted the plug wires off to him. He said Yeah, that's the right order but the rotor doesn't turn that direction. Glad he stopped by. Might have been a day or two before that dawned on my General Motors brain.

Sad day, Bones. You can hang with us if it helps. Just lost a buddy myself, one that I worked side by side with for more than 10 yrs, also some play time thrown in for good measure. During that time we probably spent more hours together than with our families. Know that you are not alone in your loss, Carp.

Sorry for your Loss, A true Friend is a rare commodity IMO, we go through life we have many acquaintances but only a few real Friends.

When you are young you go to weddings. When you get old you go to funerals. Sad but that’s the way it is. You have my sympathy and condolences. Brian.

Sorry about your friend. I lost a former boss and mentor 2 years ago on Black Friday. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him, think of him, need his help, or use one of the tools or equipment he gave to me before he passed.

Can't replace old friends. You can make new friends but there's no way to replace old ones. :(

Losing a friend is never easy, just no getting around that!
Gotta look at it as a grand departure, to another realm, celebrate the time you had with him!

I did drive my wagon to the funeral! Losing my friend was hard, but the funeral was great! His obituary mentioned his cars and abilities! The slide show had a lot of his cars and motorcycles in it, including the green OT car he was driving when I met him in about 1969 and his 61 Corvette, still at his mothers house!
He also had full fire fighters funeral with bagpipes!
    I will miss Dewey Hull!

And thanks for all the prayers and thoughts!

Sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter if they're famous or known only to one of us, it's always sad to see a loss in the community... a loss of both the friendship and the knowledge that they possessed.
