In 1979 my yellow chopped deuce 5 window was featured in Hot Rod. If anyone has April would you please look and see if that's the right month. There are several on E-Bay but I'd like to be sure before I purchase. Thanks for your help. Gary at Cornhusker
I traded it to Gary Roberts in Toledo for a chopped 33 all steel 5 window and a all steel 32 roadster. Both cars were projects. He sold it to a man in Ohio who got rid of the louvers and hinges but I don't think he finished it then it went to another builder in Ohio who's name escapes me, he and his son owned an upholstery shop and he also had a gold 32 highboy pickup. He replaced the louvers plus a louvered top and painted it maroon. The last I knew it was in New York.
Gary, I think you are talking about Bob Applemann. His son Shawn was on the H.A.M.B. (Skips***ch) in the past and did automotive upholstery. They lived near Lancaster Ohio, just south of Columbus.
I know where it is Still under dad's care in Ohio. He was "hot lapping" the neighborhood a few weeks ago stretching it's legs before the real winter weather hits! Still looks about the same as when it got waterlogged in Louisville...
