VINTAGE SHOTS FROM DAYS GONE BY! (Part 2)

This brings back memories of my driver's education cl***es in the mid 1970's. There was a single wide mobile home in the high school parking lot with two rows of driver simulators like these. We all watched a film made in the early 60's and "drove" along with it.

 

Philadelphia, this ran past my house on the north end.

 

Relocated, but still going strong.

 

Wheels are 19 inch Model A with spokes cut down and 16 inch rims mounted. Probably done at home.

We had a similar set up in my high school. Our "cars" looked more like bumper cars that didn't move and had a single movie projector screen at the front we "drove" with. I was really excited the first time . The excitement faded after our instructor made us all step on the brake pedal and hold it for like 5 minutes. He yelled at anyone, including me, for letting up on the pedal, even just a little.
