I've been driving the '30 around this summer and workin the bugs out of it, I figured on taking it apart this winter to paint and finish it. After the comments I've got from people, I might leave it alone for a while longer. If I do paint it, it won't be anything flashy, just subtle original shiny dark blue. What do you guys think?

cool deal. I'm all about the shiney stuff. though I'm sure it's fun like that, paint would take it to the next level....

when I win the lotto I'm going to go around buying "finished" cars like yours and paint 'em up, put floors and interiors in them and chrome 'em like 60's show cars.....

If it were mine, I would love to see it in paint. It looks like it has a nice stance to it and good style paint would just help bring it out more.
Kinda like a woman in the morning....makeup or no, which would you prefer.

If you plan to keep it, paint it, it's what you wanted originally, don't let everyone else's opinions affect what you do with it. I'd like to see it gold or green, fits the period well.

If you're going to sell it, I'd leave it alone, you won't get any more for it with paint on it, and you'll have spent a ton of time and effort on it.

I like blue myself, but green or gold is way cool too.
I really like the "patina" you got going there. Looks like you got yourself a pretty good A body to begin with. It would be hard for me to paint that one.

I'll go against the grain here, but I like it just the way it is.

No way I would paint it, to me it would lose all it's personality.

  9. I started driving mine in primer with the intent of working out the bugs then
blow it apart again for body work and paint that winter.

That was 4 years ago, now I don't want to do anything to it for fear I will
never get it back on the road again. The only problem is I really want a shiney one.

I like it either way, but unless you live in a dry place like Arizona, I'd paint it, that's a nice body, and rust never sleeps.

  17. paint it... i know alot of people love to leave em to rust but i'm not for it... after all, the cars 70+ years old at this point... doesn't it make sense to protect what metal is left?

Shiny is cool, although it may look nice in a nice classy flat.. as cliche as it sounds i think some flat black would look sweet on her..

Damn that is sweet!!! I am really hoping the one I will build, looks as sweet. Right stance, zoomies, steelies, etc. I like both ways, paint or patina. I cool metalic green or gold, even the right blue would look sweet.

Any more pictures from the front or other angles?

Paint it, take it to the next level. Don't let it rust and decay.

i'm not sure what i would do to it. probly end up painting it, but i do like the "rat" look. i would have it in a 50-60' paint sceme.

  27. Hell be original too damned many painted and not painted cars out there.

Ship it off and have it ceramic coated.:D

I'd be all over a paint job myself color is a personal choice but I'm leaning towards copper these days.

  28. I'd paint it and it wouldn't make a difference if it was shiny or flat.

  29. any color would be good. But please don't do the flat/satin black with red wheels thing. Seems to many people think hotrodding is all about following the crowd, hence the black/red combo. Been done to death, and should be buried right next to twenty inch rims.
