Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to the Ladies and Gents on the HAMB.
I'm doing an A-V8 using a B/W T-5 from a '92 S-10 v-6 and will be putting in an ECI under floor pedal ass'y. Using the Speedway adapter kit with the traditional horizontal clutch release shaft. Has anyone had any success or opinions on mounting a push type slave cylinder on the trans? What bracket, what make slave? I know the clutch master and slave need to be appropriate sized. I'm also in discussion with DAZE Cars who makes kits, mostly for early Mustangs, but wanted to see what the HAMB experience has been.
    Thanks,
    RB

  2. On my '38 Ford pickup, I fabricated a bracket to mount a slave cylinder from a '70s Ford Courier (Mazda) pickup. Worked well for years, was working when I sold the truck in January of this year.

Used a Daze Cars kit on my Tremec TKO 600. Recommend their product. Stout bracket, good sizing of cylinder and lines.

I'd have to think that 38Fordpickup nailed it with the owner fabricated bracket.
Slave cylinder usually wants to match the master cylinder it is used with as long as the slave has enough travel.

I have built and sold several hundred push type hydraulic slaves that bolt on the transmission for use on my T5 kits I've marketed for almost 30 years. Perhaps you should check with Speedway.

I've done several with my own design mounting brackets. The Mazda slave cylinder is very easy to use and I used Jeep for master.

The pull-style cylinder solves a lot of problems.

I used a Datsun slave on my shoebox. Made my own bracket out of a piece of angle iron . Dirt cheap to do it this way. Slave was around $10.

I did one on a 55 chevy w/ t5 using push type. Used s10 slave pushing a stock fork type gm clutch with wilwood (?) aftermarket master off speedway i think. Made mtg. bracket for slave using long grade 8 3/8 shaft from cut off bolt. Worked fine, key thing was pedal ratio under dash, had to play some. Also, no slack anywhere.

We've used the stock 3.8 V6 Camaro concentric slave on some of our T5 conversions. You have to replace the front bearing retainer with the Camaro piece so that if will bolt on. There is an adapter that converts the line to -AN.
A 3/4" master works pretty well with it. Not expensive and so far no failures in any of them.

if you are using the stock style clutch cross shaft and the stock style input arm
and want it hydraulic - maybe you have the olde bad knees ?
the FIRST question is.... why did you not purchase the adaptor bell that uses the chevy style clutch fork? as its fulcrum is more bettered suited as the slave is in the mid drift - if using the stock style its going to be floating in space.

they do an internal concentric clutch slave cylinder now that bolts in over the original t5 tremec bearing retainer - no idea on total stack heights of these

also much like the stock 1996 chevy camaro internal slaves

you can get aftermarket versions of these used in t5 to duratec or zetec or pinto conversions
Ford Sierra Cosworth Borg Warner T5 Gearbox Centric Hydraulic Clutch Conversion - Anembo Engineering
the 'groovy' thing about them is that the 3 bolt mount on the bearing retainer of this style lets you switch in a different height slave - -or a 210mm pinto clutch and pressure plate is a diffing stack heaight compared to say the 240mm clutch of a cosworth / tvr
-so with lots of faffing abont, you can arrive at where you need to be and sell off the slave that didnt work

-plus of course you can spin the thing around to have the bleed and input north east south or west.

the only trouble is i think the register or spigot on them is ford t5 bell house which is 1/8 larger than the cheeby versions

    oh well.
