    Hello,
most of the copied photos from the internet are still connected to their original source. so, no red x. The ones specifically from one source is at the mercy of that source. In this case, Cole Foster Collection. If he did not like where it was being used or posted, then he could have changed one simple word in the web listing saved file. Then all access to the original listing file is due to have a red x.

Computers are what you put in place in your files. If you put in 1959 Detroit Nationals and then change the date to 1958, all access to the original 1959 file now join the red x family. Gone.

    Jnaki

If those files are saved to anyone's home computer and not relying on the simple copy paste directly to a website source, then the red x may be history. But, relying on some source for a connection is not always good. Facebook is notorious for copied photos claiming to be original. Remember what happened to the photo storage fiasco when a lot of people stored their copied photos and when the management changed policies, everyone who did not pay more, got the big red x on all of their file photos... not a good thing.

If you have to copy and store photos, put them on your own hard drive with access to the posting website. It might help to know what you are posting with labels/titles or the copy is just a copy at the mercy of the original post. YRMV

  11. Dave, would that be Atts Ono who later ran a beautiful 40 Willys?

    Hey Dean,
It is not the same "Ono." The pronunciation is the same, but the roadster name list is "Ohno."

In the 1961 season, the roadster was on hold and a FED race car was developed using a chassis by Joe Itow Automotive.

upload_2022-12-24_3-48-23.png ATTS ONO was instrumental in helping our own 1940 Willys coupe build and was our "crew" boss... But, his Willys Coupe was a show stopper in construction and details to finish...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS... This Red 1940 Willys Coupe fits right in with the Red color Christmas Holiday season color of choice.

    • Junji, it's not my fault. Dave spelled it wrong too.
    • Atts helped my buddy Joe get his Willys to go straight when it landed a wheel stand.

that’s kool I see in the bottom pic it has some sort of 90 degree fuel pump drive also looks like the mag is driven off the cam he must have been quite the fabricator I really dig the ingenuity of these old cars

  25. Yes, sharp eye...dad made a one-off timing cover/crank girdle for the 430 Buick, since no speed parts existed.
Mag driven off the cam, fuel pump driven off the crank.
This was a dry-sump system as well with a M/T pump from a Sprint Car...quite the rarity for a drag car in 1967.

Dad was a genius, this was all done with a lathe and a mill....check out this shot:

Can you imagine what it would be like to explain this to someone with soapstone on the floor. What outstanding engineering.

Well, if they were like me it probably took a couple "reworks" before it was finished.
