    My son is here on the H.A.M.B. goes by green blade. He has a build thread on the car.

  2. To help, you could try vibrating the block, by holding a needle scaler, or impact gun against the block, and vibrate it a few times every so often. Similar to smacking a rusted a bolt to get the rust bond to break loose.

    Near Denver Co. is a place called the Rambler Ranch. A museum of Rambler & Nash treasures. they have some extra vehicles they will sell or part out. google them up & check them out.

    I did something similar with a Dodge L6, mine was on a stand though. I was able to get most of the rod caps off and loosened all the mains. Cut a slug out of 3/8th, cleaned it up, wrapped it in electro tape. Lots of PB Blaster. Set the slug on a piston and used my rattle gun on the slug, repeated on all cylinders several times over the course of a week and was able to get it freed up.

    Hey, cabong;
    Bet that Nash really shined well in all DarkBlack, but I really like the Lemon-Lime combo on that car. Any interior shots, trunk, engine, etc? Aka: Glamour - ah, yeh... :) .
    'Course, I'm also rather partial to Studes' Speedster in Lemon-Lime also... :D .
    One of the few I never liked was the Barris Grecian. Stude-based or not, sadly, that was rather horrible.
    Marcus...

    Lots of good suggestions and I will only add that you do not want to put too much pressure on the crank or you might bend a rod. My father in law was trying to unstick the engine in the Allis Chalmers that he was restoring, he fabricated a tool to replace the hand crank and put a LONG lever arm on it. The rod bent on one piston:(

    I am in the group that suggests pulling the engine and total disassembly.

    Good luck, kinda of a cool or car. Dad had both a 1949 and 1950:)

  10. Find a girl, get her in your Nash, lay the seat down and make your "Pitch"

  11. The engine looks like a cross flow head that means it could be made to perform.

    I had an old White truck engine that was stuck. After all the tricks above, and hours of violence it broke free with a bang then was loose. Turned out the only thing stuck was the oil pump ! Once I broke the gear it turned. Mouse house in the oil pan. How the hell they got in there I could not figger out. Seemed like a nasty place to live, but at least once they got too depressed all they had to do was dive in the oil swimming pool and end it all.

    Some months ago I bought an 8ba and 3 speed trans that was stuck but complete. I got it unstuck with not much effort and a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone. I then proceeded to try to see if it would run. It had a truck pan so I pulled the clean out cover after draining the oil and found a dead mouse. Poured in some fresh oil, cleaned out the carb, and hot wired it. Fired up with some twisting of the distributor. Smoked but that was probably due to the concoction that I dumped in the cylinders to free it up. The breather tube was missing so I figured that's how the mouse got in there. I sold it as a running core. I told the guy about the mouse and suggested it might be a good idea to pull the intake to look for a nest. No idea if he did or not.

    Spot on, maybe prior to that buy a gallon of Marvel Mystery oil, fill all the cylinders to the top of the block and let it set a couple weeks. Its not called Marvel Mystery Oil for nothing. Not only can it loosen the crap between the rings and cylinders, but rocking it back and forth with the trans engaged will nudge the reciprocating parts ever so slightly. If you're in a hurry, rock it back and forth once a week or so until it breaks loose, then drain the crankcase add new oil and filter and go from there.
