Projects Building My First Roadster in San Francisco

Not too much to update, but I just wanted to drop in and say I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I'm back in Michigan for the holidays, and I'll admit that it's been really nice to take a couple weeks to relax with family and friends. Even though I'm away from the garage, I have a few new pieces of the puzzle in the works. More on those later. (Photo by Lance Butler)

Beat me to it! We were too caught up in the install to take any video of the process. The most important part is that we got it all bolted together again—and had fun doing it.

Oh, we're always learning!

 

Back in business after a much needed rest. Just like the racers of yesteryear, it only took a few minutes to get the street equipment back where it belongs. As fun as the racing was, I like this car best in street trim. I thought the rain would help wash off the tempera paint, but it looks like I still have some scrubbing to do.

Feels great to be back on the streets of San Francisco!

 

Is that one of those sneaky single car garages that runs the length of the house underneath that is 3 deep ?

I bet a lot of newer cars around there have scrapes running down the sides of them pulling in and out.

I believe they are. I wish my garage was like that—but I'm lucky to have one at all!

I tried parking my Silverado in our narrow garage in Twin Peaks one night after work—scraped up the side pretty bad.

To save face, I'd say yes, he red lighted for sure

New year, clean workbench. There's not a ton to report on the project right now, although I have been slowly collecting parts both big and small. The biggest one is scheduled for pickup on Saturday. With any luck, it'll be exactly what we need to kick off 2023 and really get things going.

Oh! And when I was cleaning up the garage, I came up with a bunch of stuff for sale. Nothing too crazy, but still worth mentioning. My Edelbrock heads are potentially for sale too. If anyone needs them, shoot me a PM.
