    Halt and Catch Fire

    Hello,

    My wife and I saw a series on streaming TV that portrayed the development of the computer industry from Texas to Silicon Valley. Starting small and it blossomed to huge proportions as we all know how the industry grew and involved most of us along the way.

    We are not computer nerds, but to keep up with our son, our granddaughter and all of those involved, we do our best to stay on top of computers and what not. They are simple to use and we do remember back to the early keyboards of Atari and Commodore, as well as he very early Apple Computers. IBM green screens and typing? What??? But, remember, we also grew up using old keyboard typewriters from Black ancient ones to the sleek Royal portables with red/black ink ribbons.

    Halt and Catch Fire had many actors we can remember from other TV shows and movies. One was Mackenzie Davis from the Terminator series and Blade Runner 2049. The other was Scoot McNairy best known for Narcos: Mexico as a DEA agent.

    There were plenty of cars in the series as it took place over a lot of years of computer industry development. But, this one fit the HAMB parameters.

    1964 Mercury Comet Caliente was the star of this portion of the series. The cool Comet just made the scene relevant... a computer guy being able to build a hot rod for his daily driver... Yikes, what next?

    ...and the "reliable eyewitness" confuses a '46 Ford for a '56! Wonder why no front bumper on the '56?

    @40two
    You know, you are absolutely correct about that, I had to go back and look it up again, so thanks for the accurate correction. There is one website that thinks its a Borgward, so not everything posted on the internet, is 100% accurate!

    Any one remember the Twilight Zone episode with a fella living on the moon with a 32 phaeton outside his house? Seemed like he lived in a quantity hut.

    As far as I know, Columbo's Peugot was the ugliest car ever used in a TV series.

    There was also a nice '53 or '54 Ford used in Andy Griffith, when Barney bought it from a "little ole lady" who turned out to be a swindler. First time I ever heard of using sawdust in rear ends, and how shifty used car salesmen are. Still true to this day!

    Shoot, just realized I got beat to the punch on both cars!

    Played by Jack Warden. He was banished to an asteroid for being (wrongly) convicted of murder.

    Yeah Mom, it either corrects things that aren’t incorrect or it doesn’t take into consideration my fat old fingers.
