History It was 20 years ago today ~ Sgt. Pepper's taught the band to play

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jan 2, 2023.

  1. Please excise the Beatles song analogy, 20 years ago today has passed since I joined the Hamb and the knowledge I have gleaned far outweighs any of my contributions.

When I joined I had two hot rod, my '32 sedan was more of a traditional hot rod, flathead powered, 3 speed with 16" Bent spoke Kelsey- Hayes wires and bias ply tires.

The other car was a '32 roadster, this hot rod was more of a 60's style build, sbc Chevy, automatic transmission, 9" rear axle, mag wheels and wide tires in the rear.

I have built, sold and traded several cars over the past 20 years and hoping to build more, Thanks to each and everyone of you for your friendship, some of you I have met, some I may never meet but I think of you as brothers.

Thanks to all the moderators, I know I have been a pita at times but there never was any ill will or disrespect, last but certainly not least, I want to thank the Boss, Ryan for making it possible for all us like minded guys, both young and old for creating all the si tes under the Atomic Industries banner.

Today I an driving the '32 sedan that I owned before I joined the hamb and we are enjoying Brenda's Ranch Wagon that was built and shared here on the hamb. HRP

  7. Danny, you're like the glue that holds this place together. That along with a few clamps, screws and nuts and bolts!...Congrats on 20 years of keeping us all informed and entertained. You and Brenda would be reason enough for me to move to Anderson, South Carolina. Keep up the good work. This place wouldn't be the same without you. .......Don.

  8. Congrats Danny! You are definitely one of the pillars here on the HAMB and I know I appreciate all your contributions!

20 years? You must not say much.

Congrats on the milestone Danny! For years when I was trucking, SC was like my second home, I spent as much time there as I did here in AL. I still can’t help but think we crossed paths somewhere back then. Doubt I’ll ever get back over there again, but maybe we’ll meet up somewhere in the Southeast. I just wanna see if you’re as full of BS as you make out to be! I kinda think you are, and that’s a good thing!

That’s a cool milestone Danny. Thanks for all of your contributions and great threads started here. I think it’s super cool that you still have one of the same cars.

First, congratulations on your anniversary. But I wonder if I am I missing something? You say "Today I an driving the '32 sedan that I owned before I joined the hamb (sic)" but I see pictures of two different cars. Do my eyes deceive me or isn't the first picture of a Fordor and the second of a Tudor?

  20. You are correct, when I joined I had 2 running & driving hot rods, the Fordor & the roadster, at the time the original Tudor was a project that I purchased from the original owner, I sold it to a friend about a year after joining the hamb with the understanding if he decided to sell I would get first refusal, unfortunately he passed away but his wife remembered the conversation and after a long absence I was able to buy the car back, HRP

    20 years. Hard to believe.

Danny, you've been good to me. You helped to make me feel at home here. And when I really needed it, you were there.
And a whole bunch of you guys followed his lead.

    Thank you.

You know what I like about your threads? Most of them seem to be discussions that pretty much all of us can join. :)

    Sure glad you're here.
It wouldn't be the same without you. That's the truth.
