ok folks i have 33x19 x15 rear tires on my 56 i dont really care for the rims as theyre centerlines id like to buy cragers to match the fronts , my question is probably stupid but here goes ,, what width should i be looking for ?12 s?go easy on me lol thanks
Look on the tire manufacturer's site for their recommendation on rim width, the internet is Good for something!!
14 to 15" wide wheel, most likely. Measure the tread width, you probably want a wheel that's an inch narrower than the tread.
keep in mind that the Hamb focuses on 1965 and older build styles, there were no 20" wide tires in 1965......that is 70's street freak stuff, technically off topic, if that matters to you
Why not look into what "wheel" width the tire manufacturer..."recommends " !!! I'd think that would be your...smartest move. But then again...that's just me. Mike
well i thought we were all mature enough to get along, and not say things like think for youreself and do youre own reaserch , and other rude shit , makes it real hard to go on here and ask questions i hate smart asses , this isnt a forum to be keyboard warriors and act like fkn jerks unless im completely wrong and it possibly is ?
I’ve had M/T 31 18.5 15’s on a 10 inch wheel. Not ideal. I ended up with 14 x 15 Welds. Whatever you decide on if their steel there going to weigh a ton.
it has to do with the focus of this site, go here and read the rules please, https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-h-a-m-b-rules-guidelines.44274/ Then hamb focuses on 1965 and older cars built in the styles of the same period (65 and back)
umm my car is a 56 sedan delivery !! but it doesnt qualify ?? if thats so then yes i am on the wrong forum
A simple explanation about the size of tire would have been enough. Yes the car looks like a street freak but he is changing the wheels to look more traditional. Don't judge so quickly.
He can go with Cragars if he want's but to be period correct they need the chrome peeling off of them like mine did back in the day.
