Nice work. Make sure you have enough clearance around the exhaust where it goes through the frame. I believe mine is touching when I go through a moderate curve with the power on. I think the engine is torquing more than I anticipated.

  2. @Mirko 73 , I’m starting to think you might get every old word artisan in Italy beating a path to your doorstep if you keep this up. Awesome work.

  3. Mirko, nice to see you back on it, this will be a fantastic custom!

I worked at Cadillac for 30 years. The Cadillac plant motto was "Craftsmanship a creed; Quality a law".
    You definitely exemplify that.
    Bravo!

    good morning mirko:
a word about your turned down exhaust. if you drive over dirt roads you will create a dust storm. i have that on my 56 gmc. the only reason i don't change it is because it is a truck. i made sure to run my exhaust out of the back of my 49 sedannette
    ciao,

Looks like a '49 Buick rear bumper center section worked into the Cadillac bumper, very well done. My '41 Cadillac had that same modification done to it at some time in the early 1950's.

  11. The copper fuel lines are very well done a lot better than steel lines which can rust!

Excellent craftmanship Mirko! One question however, is there going to be enough clearance to remove the bolts on those lines running down the left frame rail? If you ever have to replace them it looks like you will have to raise the body to do it.

squablow, you are 100% correct. a 1949 buick sedannette + a 1949 caddy bumper + a ton of work (about 400 hours) + 10 coppers at the chrome shop = a custom bumper. i know it pi**es off the purists, but i figure that just means it's perfect. besides it's my car not theirs..... 087.jpg 095.jpg
