1965 Dodge Coronet owned by Norm Krause “Mr. Norm” of Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago. Altered wheel base (AWB) and acid dipped body parts for lightening, powered by a blown and injected 426 Hemi running on nitromethane (nitro). Driven by Gary Dyer to a 8.63 second E.T. quarter mile in 1965, exceptional for any full bodied car at that time. Car class was S/FX that was considered Factory Experimental, the AWB lighten cars with blowers/injectors out top of hood looked “Funny”, which brought about the cars known as Funny Cars, that later moved on to one piece hinged full body fiberglass cars.

  26. Looks like this may have been taken during WW II when women filled a lot of traditionally male jobs. They were vital to the war effort but received little (or no) recognition. Thanks ladies!!
