Great to have part of the HAMB brain trust back in the fold, we've lost too many. Welcome back Sam!

That car....with no disrespect to @Ryan...is the HAMB. It was a huge inspiration while I built The Peter Beater back turn-of-the-century. Welcome back.

Didn't you actually cut out and then weld in a section of the block to change the block casting number to that of a 283 or 327 to make it "vintage"?

I don't recall a lot of other details, but remember the build was fabrication at it's very best. Just the sort of stuff I really enjoy doing myself.

That car brings back some great memories of the Hamb. Good to see it back. You're gonna have to have some Orca Bettys pose by it!

Fuck yeah! I was just watching the catching up
With @bobbleed video on you tube where he talks about being inspired by roach rod donuts. Been following you on Instagram and super stoked to see your return to the hamb and this thread!

The original Roach Roadster was cool but there is something about the reconfigured car with the 27 T body that makes me say YES!

  13. I cannot confirm or deny such a thing… It was a very thin part… the numbers. I also ground the rub in the front of the block, and took the humps off of the double hump heads…

Hello Sam. Great to see the Roach Rod back with you. I remember riding in that, it was very impressive. My German work colleague was also very impressed. He told me off later for not introducing him to "my hot rod mates" earlier!

    Welcome back!

The roadster looks great! Throughout all the changes you mention, it "survived" well. Can't say that about all the old HAMB builds.

I sold some front end parts to a guy in MA and delivered them. Turns out hes the owner of the original body with the dash board all signed by people. Pretty cool.
Im a little younger than you guys so when that car was built I was gathering parts and dreaming of that being me. That was a cool time in hot rodding and basically the start for me.

The Roach rod is one of my favorite hotrods and kick myself when I see the name as it was available to buy at one time . Its simple design very well engineered and built very well to kick butt . I believe on the hamb or ebay

That car has such a cool late 40s early 50s vibe. Although the contemporary modern moter kills the vibe some what

One of the most inspirational builds to ever grace these pages. Convinced me I needed a roadster.

    Love the '27 body!
