Another purchase from the local 4-h toy show today. No markings at all that I can see to establish a maker. The valves on the engine go up and down when the friction drive is cooperating. It must be a hot rod because it says it is.
That's a really great find. The Century Hot Rods were made by Nomura (T.N.) Japan. they came in red and a medium blue. Nice to see the hubcaps are still there...the windshield and hubcaps are ALWAYS missing.
My red & blue 'Hot Rod Century"s, plus the same car released as "The Bug". Of course mine is missing the windshield!! Mick
I kind of like models that show their age and are a bit beat up. Of course I appreciate the guys that like the mint boxed stuff too.
Just got this one too. Cheating because it's not tin but early plastic by Marx. Thought that you guys that are into this stuff wouldn't mind?
I used to have one of these Horikawa robots as a kid. It would walk for a bit, stop and guns would pop out of its chest while it spun around a few times. It then would repeat. I didn’t appreciate it that much when I had it. It disappeared like a lot of my toys did when I grew older.
