Well, I think your doing quite well at "Not building a hot rod." You just need to remove a few, and add a few other letters to the title. ;)

We are all still coming back to see that your not doing much. LOL! :D

That looks like a pretty good distraction!

You enjoy making trunk lids don`t you. I`ve been watching this thread on how not to build a 33. I`m not starting another project. I did learn that in this thread.

Hey, nice car on the U-Haul. All it lacks is finishing.

It actually came with a trunk lid! Probably one of the nicer ones I've seen, believe it or not.

Still not sure what to do with it. I might mock it up and try to sell it to get funds for the Plymouth, the reserves are a bit low at the moment. We'll see, I suppose.

    Step 1046:

Do more steering things. Make it all adjustable.

I guess I didn't take a picture while I built it, but I hollowed out one of those steering support bearings that allow for misalignment and then welded a piece of tube with a 1.5" ID to it. Then I modified a stock style clamp to make it a bit bigger to hold it all together. This lets me adjust the column up and down without much trouble at all.

I can take some more detailed pics of it if anyone is actually interested.

It would be great if you would select full size images when you post pictures! That makes viewing your thread a lot more enjoyable.

I believe there's about 2 dozen posts when I first started that were complaining about people's computers and phones vomiting blood and bile when trying to upload the big pictures, so I just go with the default pictures.

    Step 1142:

Sell that Model T. Pause and reflect on a long long history of poor financial decisions....

    ...and...

....continue making poor financial decisions, probably.

I've actually been selling off stuff I don't need and giving away a bunch of things. Trying to clean out and declutter, no radical purchases have been made for a while. Guess I'm getting old.

    Step 1143:

Continue the interior stuff. Cut down the VW beetle seats, make new pivot points and bend the backs to the right angle. Hopefully I can use a regular seat cover kit.

    Step 1139:

Guess what! Redid some more of my old work again! The cowl always bugged the hell out of me. It didn't flow right, it was too straight and had a weird twist to it.

I posted a reply before the finished pictures loaded up. It doesn't look like much, but I'm so much happier with it now.

Hey Johnny. I don’t know your resources or if you have any old salvage yards near by but in my 33 Plymouth the buckets from a Neon fit just fine. Plenty of room just had to modify mounting holes to lay flat. Sorry about bad picture of seats IMG_1703.jpeg

    Step 1222:

Annoy the hard-core Mopar people a bit more. Cut down a '34 Buick grill shell to fit. Narrowed about 3" at the top, shortened 5" The stock Plymouth grill is pretty cool but the bottom looks like a shovel and the grill insert I have is pretty beat up and will take so much work to make nice.

This is where I'm at currently. It's all tacked in while I figure out how to mount it and how I'm going to modify the hood to match the lines in the grill. Need to narrow/shorten the grille inserts too. Should be interesting to braze/solder up the super tiny thin brass trim pieces.

Glad you are back at it. This is one of the Hamb's classic threads. Right up there with the Hippo Boat car rescue.

  22. Omg...I somehow missed the referenced thread (link below)...when I got to the part where the neighbor showed up with his newly acquired 2 person pedal powered hippopotamus boat as a tow vessel...I bust a gut!

Yeah but you don't keep that part!?!.... you cut the "wings" off and it looks like a '33-4 Ford grille!

    Step 1227:

Remake the bottom of the grill shell, make some side panels to fill in where fenders went.
Hit all the things with hammers. Attack with a grinder until it looks cool enough for Instagram.

  27. Hey Sparcolator, nice work as usual. Maybe you could, for those of reading on our phones while on the dumper, select full image for your photos (it doesn't cost anything, trust me).

Glad to see you're still hammerin' away.

    Thanks!

I'm in the middle of figuring out the hood setup right now, I'll post some better detail pics of that whole debacle once I get through most of it.

Here's a quick pic of where it stands today.
