Now this angle looks much better. See, you can't judge too much from just one photo, that usually doesn't tell the whole story.

Although now that I look a little longer, are those front frame horns as low as they appear in this pic?

  3. Exactly what I was referring to in my post about this Roadster. Nice enough car, "WRONG" rollers! Is it good enough for AMBR? I think it's just another nice Red 32, yawn.

I had the same thought on wheels. Chromed wheels (with or without white walls) or a polished straight spoke American would really change the at***ude of the car.

  7. I'm not picking a horse in this race. I'm attending the show this year for the first time and am looking forward to seeing the spectacle in person. I understand the '36 is a home built car out of a 2 car garage built over many years...and started life as a coupe. That's kinda cool to me.

Oversized wheels and fat tires don’t cut it for me; subtle pinstripes are fine but white on black panel strips are not subtle by any means. I wish them all the best and will find out who won here on the HAMB Sunday night.

The stripes are sorta okay -- except for the ones on the firewall. They look like graffiti -- maybe it's the photo angle.

I HATE big wheels on old cars! The ones that looks bad is the red one....and the '36. The rest are okay, IMO.

Firewall should have been off white. I don't like the stripes on the firewall either.

Really like this one. Has the Tom Mcmullen look, minus Roth flames.

I wasn’t referring to polished Americans torque thrust IIs, but original Americans for drum brakes.I agree typical “polished Americans” are overused and played out.

  19. Sigh.... Proving yet again that exemplary craftsmanship and attention to detail is not the same as imagination or originality.
Oh well, as least there's no cars painted in baby**** hues this year....

and how the hell did number 8 get picked? rear wheels way too far forward in the wheel opening, gigantic door handles, vent in the side of the hood that doesn't flow with any angle anywhere on the car and while the top was probably a lot of work to build, it doesn't flow well either... and last but not least Mopar rally wheels???

No one picks them. People enter the compe***ion that want to.

  29. How does a car with a hard top even qualify as a roadster?

And I gave #1 a p*** on the color because it's not quite as 'decayed' looking as past entries. But I'll admit it's dancing at the edge...

Some really nice cars. As usual I have an opinion The 29 highboy looks good but the color misses the mark. The black deuce with the striping is to much, I like Chisenhalls deuce, it's just right, John Halls is nice, Red deuce YUK, Muroc car is nice but I thought roadsters were *******?, I'm digging the 36 is it true it's a home built?, Blue deuce nice but wrong wheels, Chadd Muroc very nice but a little late to the party. I have absolutely no idea which one will be victorious.
