  1. Not a fan of that paint scheme. Must have been lots of work, and I can appreciate that.

    I spent Friday checking out the cars and displays and my personal choices were Jake's '29, the red '27 with the '32 chassis and fenders and Cory Talbert's '33 5W. Those three were so well designed and finished they represented what I feel are true American Hot Rods. Great innovation and workmanship. So many of the cars were too over the top and modern. Tom Davison is a true artist with any camera he picks up, even the iPhone. The show was well attended on Friday and I can imagine that today and Sunday will fill all the buildings. Long live the GNRS!!!!

  7. Agreed. Once you put stripes or panels or fades across the natural flow lines of the body you completely chop up the visual impact in a very negative way. Sorry, not a fan.

  8. Tom, as always, thank you for your outstanding photo efforts. Always a pleasure to view.

    One of the HAMB highlights of the year, your GNRS coverage. Special thanks for all your hard “behind the scenes” work to get to the cars before the crowds do. The lack of distracting people is refreshing.

  14. The Grand national roadster show is the same as the LA Roadster show. If you can't have fun there, you need a new hobby. :) Thanks again, Tom. I know with age you have to pace yourself. You're doing a great job. :)

    Is it just me or does anyone else think this and the cornfield customs XF/GMR LSR car should be considered for the AMBR award?

    Great pics as usual Tom. Any chance you snapped a pic or two of Pete's Eastwood Special?

    I agree. But the owner would have had to declare it as an AMBR entrant. A committee culls those down to a certain number of contenders, this year there were nine.
    I will be showing only two of the nine here because the other seven are not traditional in appearance.

    @Tom davison

    Please do not post the off topic cars. The only place that is allowed is on the AMBR thread

    It's a fantastic looking and supurbly constructed car but my guess is that a lot of the bring it to AMBR level of fit and finish would cause it to not pass tech. Where those row of dimes welds on the chassis get you pass tech they would be viewed as not being finished by the judges for that class. For it's own class it works great though.
