My 59 Corvette has had a stock copper line since birth with no issues.

I've had a couple metal lines crack, one steel OEM line on a 60s Chevy truck, and one copper line on my Chevy II. But they didn't break off and spew out all the oil like the plastic line, they just dripped a little.

I decided to try copper. Since I probably won't run a hood, I should get a messy warning shortly after it brakes! 2EF0FAD0-A658-4658-9394-BBA5B7ED2E88.jpeg

I had electric, the sender got broke when I loaned it out. New sender cost more then new gauge, plus I was able update to 2 5/8" gauges for better visibility.

Looks nice! I like that coil in the copper line! Nice touch!

Plastic for me. Routed away from heat and things it might rub against, passed through a grommet where necessary and no over tightening on the ferrel and it will be fine. Actually those tips will serve a copper tube installation also.

Joe, if you loan something out, then who ever uses it should fix or replace what’s not right when you get it back. If they can’t agree to that, don’t loan things out;)

I agree! I rarely borrow anything, but when I do, I make sure it is the same or better shape, when I return it! Like borrowing a trailer and fixing that tire that has a slow leak or fixing a tail light! Also if you borrow a vehicle, return it with a full tank of fuel. Just good manners!
