I don’t know a lot about Hemi’s but I think the low deck blocks won’t accept the 392 crossover, it will be too wide.
I won’t say 100% yes but the heads were thinner on the 392 to compensate for the taller deck. All the intake manifold are the same from 331-392.
Stock Chrysler crossovers are all the same size regardless of engine displacement. The difference is in the water outlet location on the front of the heads. On 354 heads, the water p***age is right next to the top edge of the head, where the valve cover rests (like mine, below). On 392 heads, the water p***age is almost an inch away from the top edge.
Thanx for the replies. My experience is with 331 p***enger car and truck heads that all have thermostats in the intake manifold, no crossovers. I looked on the internet and it looked like 354 engines all had crossovers attached to the water pumps. only saw 392s with separate crossovers. 354 pump/crossover.
All of the intake manifolds, 331, 354, 392 are not the same. Just try to put a 331" intake manifold on a 392" engine and you will se the difference.
I used a stock 392 crossover with my 354 p***enger car heads on a 58 354 2 1/2 ton Dodge truck block and a Hot Hemi Heads sbc water pump adapter set up without any problems. Of course I only have about 40k miles on the steps up so far. I used a 180 Stat and a Dodge 360 water outlet.
Yes, the 392 crossover fits on the '55 331 car hemi. The 392 W/P should also. The long BB Chevy W/P will fit over the OEM car timing cover, using the HH adaptors
I went with the Chevy water pump as I didn't have any of the front water components. I figured if I needed a replacement ever, it could be easier to find.
You can use the smaller manifolds on a That is pretty much how i am setting up this engine. With no heat riser do you have trouble with cold running engine?
