Where does the capillary tube go that comes off the heater control valve? Mine is somewhat uncoiled and bent up out of the way. There's a clip attached to the end that obviously clamps to something.

For reference, here's a pic of a NOS heater control valve and cap tube.

No one? I can't find anything in the shop manual and I'm not entirely sure of it's function and don't remember where it went. I need some guidance!

I'll crawl under the dash on mine and look as soon as the weather improves enough for me to take the cover off

I thought mine was just inside the black cover and the clip was part of it.
It’s all out and stored in a box since I added AC/heater combo.

My '54 has the Magicaire Chili-size-platter-2-e1420170164660.jpg heater and does not have that.

Jeff, I have the exact same MagicAire heater control. Also, the heater control valve is factory and has the capillary tube. I'm at a loss.

Feed tube through notch marked with blue circle. Clip to indention with red box. If you had the plenum box it would have a corresponding notch at the top.

I think the idea is the tube reacts to the temperature of the air moving from the heater box to the plenum box. Which would be the airflow the flap regulates.
