DD Speed Shop on you tube made a 2 door sedan door work. You do need a hardtop vent window.

Yea boy I guess I'm not surprised at the price and rarity of the parts but it's still hard to stomach how much these cars cost to put together.

Yea I think I watched that from DD. Interesting character. Fun videos you watch! I'll see what I can find, if I don't get a hold of one I'll buy a shell or fab one out of another version. Thanks for the tips!

The car grew up in Chicago, and I grew up nearby.

    Oh gotcha

I feel blessed to have a couple of these iconic cars. Dad had one back in the day and is excited to see them as well. Lots of things have slipped through my fingers or came and went over the years but I'm holding onto these. I can see and feel the day already of rolling up a couple shop doors and seeing a 57 gasser and a tasteful 55 Nomad staged up and ready to roll ......

Goals..... Wow that's gorgeous and that orange just pops like crazy. I do love that color on these nomads!

Speaking of colors...the one my buddies dad owned (and still owns for that matter) and we cruised some in high school was coral and grey. So, that could have had something to do with some laughing at it as well. The old pink station wasn’t cool to some kids in the late 80’s.

  10. I have it's younger twin in my garage. Slowly getting back at it(had surgery in fall, that's delayed me) IMGP4049r 2.jpg parts pile.jpg front view.jpg

Here's a few more shots of the inside of the nomad and a few random photos of coming home and a few more parts. Floors were cut out by the previous owner before my friend bought it like it is here. Decent removal job of the floors really. I can definitely work with this!

Might have to steal that sweet red flake steering wheel for my gasser car ...

IMG_20230215_165958_01.jpg Great stuff. Those fender eyebrows look nice. Money you don't have to spend. just scored a beautiful set for mine. Pricey but worth it.

A prolific vendor at Carlisle, had to grab 'em before the big meet. They wouldn't last an hour at a swap meet. '55 stuff is gold these days. He had lots of '57 parts, hoods and such. Not a one for a five.

  16. Looks like the inner and outer rockers are decent, as well as the braces.

Good to know. I have a swap this weekend so we'll see what the vibe is on Tri-Five stuff. Nice score!

Yes they seem to be in pretty decent. Once I get it cleaned up and have a closet look I'll know what I have to do before getting floors installed. It'll be on the back burner for now. I'll probably build the 57 first and then I have a CJ5 I'm building that my kids are interested in. So.... The nomad waits. Just happy to have it!

Cool.....I've always wanted one but the closest I ever got to one was my old Safari . I found a side glass here on the HAMB 56safarindrive.jpg

Well I finally had an evening to get the nomad off the trailer and unpacked the truck of all the parts! There's a lot here. I am missing one of the door trim spears. I guess that makes sense, since I only have one door. I'm going to get things sorted out and load all the parts up on shelves in the shop here so I can take notes of what all is here.

That's about what I have for now! It'll be fun to go through everything. I won't be working on this car until after the gasser and probably the Jeep are farther along.... But, couldn't pass it up!

Oooof, the side window areas on those are tough to rebuild!

There are some parallels here. Surprising that any almost 70 year old upholstery is intact. IMG_20230119_180918_01.jpg IMG_20230202_134550_01.jpg
