Amazing fabrication and photography. Very cool. Forgive my ignorance but, what is it? An old race car? An old runabout/speedster? A tour de force steam punk creation of a car that never was? I'm vaguely familiar with J.A.P. engines, having done some repairs on a motorcycle version. I would love to see more details of the elusive V8.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the images above are all computer generated.

I'm sure the real car is absolutely stunning, but this ain't it.

That J.A.P powered, wood framed machine is magnificent!
It's literally a living piece of automotive history!
    Thanks for sharing the photos!

I really dig cyclecars. I've seen people on here ***** about them not being HAMB friendly but I think they fit right in. I really wanna build one but it seems to me that the iden***y of a cyclecar is largely based on its engine, and at least my area (but probably the United States in general) seems to really be lacking suitable antique engines. Rare aero engines seem to turn up in garden sheds all the time in Europe but around here they're either in museums or long since been recycled into paperclips.

The JAP V8 cyclecar is owned by Richard Scaldwell. I have heard that it isn't an antique car per se but that it, like many other vintage cyclecars in England, was built relatively recently out of antique parts and they have to basically pretend they are antique cars in order for them to remain legal. Not sure if that's true.

Anyway, that's an awesome 3D model. High quality 3D models like that let us get real close looks at cars we otherwise will never get.

Well, the "Let's Talk Cyclecars" thread has been running on the HAMB since 2007. Modified cyclecars are every bit hot rods....the problem most folks here have is they think that hot rods and modified vehicles were exclusive to the states. While poo=pooing European offerings, they enthuse over vehicles like Von Dutch's Indian powered Wing.

Well, whatever it is, I’d like to take a spin in it, or at least watch it run.

European car culture is so different from ours. They tend to actually use the things, not sit behind them in a lawn chair. Refreshing. I especially like the Hill Climbs like Shelsley Walsh.

I've been following a guy in the UK who's building an Austin 10 special that's similar in concept. He just got the thing drivable. https://www.youtube.com/@oakswamp
