I’ve got to ask, with the crazy restrictive regulations and inspections down there, will you be able to get it licensed and legal to drive or will they make you change everything?

That's a definite Sydney Hot Rod Show candidate right there Charlie.
And I bet you've got a car that the blown engine would suit perfectly.
What is the blower drive ? Cragar had those in the 60's. Great find.
Any details on the engine ?

. Yes Pete, mainly got it for the Sydney show, are you coming? Not sure on the blower drive, looks like it was fabricated. No details on the engine, looks like a 324 basically stock but looks fresh.

That will be a big hit at the Sydney show Charlie. No, I'm not coming, Michael wanted me to bring the T but I've decided not to.
That blower, engine, trans combo was probably sourced from the US as a complete package and in Australia in the early 70's would have been fairytale stuff..
Checking my old catalog, Cragar did make vee belt blower kits for 49-58 Oldsmobile for 4-71 blowers in 1966 for the low cost of $325! A very desirable kit nowadays.

  19. Flaherty was an Olds fan. All of his stalled projects had them. Actually I think it was the same engine shuffled around. Not this engine though.

. Yes Pete, a shame you can’t make it, maybe it is a Crager set up?

. Yes Tony, Ray had a 394 with a 671 blower and a top loader. Was in three different cars that I knew of. The 394 is now on the central coast in a steel ‘40 Willy’s coupe.

  21. I met Ray Flaherty back in 1978 when he was working for Jim Broadly, and they came to the USA to attend the L. A. Roadster show as well as buying cars to fill the containers they rented. IIRC Jim Broadly bought a 1963 Ford Galaxie fast-back with a Ford SOHC engine in it to send back to Australia.

could you post more pictures of the engine and blower setup?
hard to tell in the one picture but it looks like a Beatty manifold, pruned 4-71 with the fabricated snout and 6 V belt pulley..

A beautiful find. A lot of stuff carefully stashed in freight containers ends in heartbreak. A few decades sitting out in a paddock either cooks them or the rain gets in. The condition of this one is stunning.

    chees,
Harv[/QUOTE]. Yes Harv, the chrome & aluminium has corroded a little but saveable the candy paint is still in remarkable condition & should polish up.

Hey Dago88, I remember more C Cab cars in Australia when I was younger. Why do you think very few are built these days? Is it our ever tightening regs?

    Cheers Turns
