I do not know if I can post this on HAMB. I HOPE SO At the moment I feel like living in the 80's in a East European Country. If you need something all you hear is AT THE MOMENT NOT AVAILABLE OR CHEAP MADE IN CHINA STUFF. On my 1976 Eldorado the HYDRO-POWER BRAKE BOOSTER is leaking and also the master cylinder. I wonder if I can replaced the old HYDRO-POWER BRAKE BOOSTER with a new HYDRO-POWER BRAKE BOOSTER out of a 2011 -2022 Chevy or GMC Truck. I know many in this group here know more about this stuff than I know Thanks Herbert
The 76 should have flare fittings and the later boosters have o-ring fittings. The way the brake pedal rod attaches is different but probably could be adapted to work. The plate that mounts to the firewall should swap over to the later booster.
Would this help?https://piratejack.net/2771004-hydro-boost-repair-kit/?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsqms57On_QIVMBTUAR0WlwhMEAQYASABEgLISPD_BwE
From their website--- So, before you call and ask it if fits your car or truck I can stop you right there and say YES it fits. Does it fit my Ford Truck.... YES.....Does it fit my Dodge.....YES....Does it....ok wait i told you that it fits ALL hydro-boost Bendix units.
I run Metric-era one in my Falcon. The pushrod is different. The early, pre-Metric ones have a removable pushrod. The Metric-era ones don't. Other than that being a potential issue, they work the same. Assist pressure is based on your power steering pump.
