Here's just a few pictures we got Saturday at the Starbird show in Tulsa. I'm sure I'll be chastised for this but gotta say its just not my favorite show. The building is quite impressive and maybe a third of the cars and the crazy Customs but everything is so poorly arranged and jammed in there. Seems to me they could be a little more selective and spread them out more. They drew a huge crowd Saturday and a lot of the isles you about had to walk sideways down and made it impossible to get pictures and really be able able to look the nice stuff over. It's been a bucket list show for us for years and glad I went but probably won't go back. Leave some comments and let me know what you thought. Has it always been this disorganized and crammed full?
I agree with your thoughts on the show. From what I've seen on other threads there were a bunch of cars that I had no idea why they were in a car show. In this case bigger isn't always better. I wasn't there so maybe it was better than it looked. Mick
It is all about the money. Every year I say I won't enter and still do. 28 bucks admission is a bit high, and I pay 50 bucks so you can look at my ride. I guess I go for the corn dogs. There were some really top notch cars there. I took all my photos Thursday since no spectators were there.
Sorry I missed seeing you.... I go every year and hadn't missed one in over thirty years. One of the reason that I don't miss, it is less than an hour from home. This years was one of the best because of the Legends of Kustom section. The price of admission was worth it just to see El Capitola. Wow what an eye candy treat. Most of the cars are not HAMB friendly but I enjoy seeing the vehicles running for the $10k. This years show was very crowded and crammed with the most cars that I've seen at a Starbird show. The reason I go is to visit with family and friends. The $28 admission fee was high but I justified it because I was able to visit with everyone. Some I don't get to see but once a year. I won't miss one, besides visiting usually I'll see one car that is running for the gold that I hadn't seen before and its kool to check them out in person.
Hey Mick, missed seeing you at the show. See you at Stray Kat. Do you by chance have a photo of the sectioned 40 sedan that was at the hotel in b-ville during the ROC?
Ha, one of the main reasons we came was to see you and the Oklahoma crew and we missed everyone. The $28 admission didn't bother me so much and the Customs were amazing. Just seemed really poorly organized and extremely crowded. The Vintage show across the way was a bonus though!
I agree about the show being very crowded. Lots of the cars shouldn’t have probably been in the show, but I still had a great time meeting up with lots of friends. It was definitely more crowded as far as cars than I have ever seen. My highlight this year was taking my grandson to his first show. That will make it memorable for me always in spite of the crowded isles and other things mentioned here. Pretty sure about the only pics I took were of the cars in the Legends of Kustoms section unless they involved my son and grandson.
I’ve never been there as it’s on the wrong side of the country. The pictures look pretty awesome though.
Most of the pics I have seen confirmed that there was some seldom seen high quality stuff. If you look at "something for everybody", didn't it hit the mark????
