If we are going by titles, this one is titled as a 1927 Chevrolet roadster!

It does have a roadster cowl and windshield (26). Not a single Ford part!
Before someone comments on the pipe insulation, I should say that this was put together quickly to run in the endurance run. The raw edge was hard to handle. Still in primer, old seat covers to hold the seats together, paint thinner can for radiator overflow. Came in fourth on the first 200 mile outing! Be safe And Have Fun!

My friend has what he calls his Maxwell speedster that is ALL T except for the radiator shell. He's had it a little over 100 mph. He can call it what he wants!

I may actually get my 25 Chevy, ( Gilco Special), roadster on the road this year! Been many years in the construction.

About 10 years ago I bought a really rough '28 roadster for $80 from a guy.
Paid for it but never went back to get it. Better deals came along and I kept forgetting about it.
I have tendency to do that. Must have a dozen or more cars I've paid for and never picked up.
Bought a 1956 Chevy 4 door wagon in 1977 and never went back for it. Doubt that one is still around.
One of these years I should go back and see if any of the rest are still sitting in the weeds/woods/sheds.

  8. Well by now all that would add up to a decent pile of scrap metal and pocket money. Every now and then a random hamb member tells a story about a buyer that never came back to collect. Your famous and did,nt even know it :D:rolleyes:

46 years since I didn't go back for the wagon. I paid $200 for it and a '57 Chevy hardtop so I lost $100 and selling the hardtop more than covered the loss. None of the vehicles cost more than $100. I'll be generous and say 15 vehicles so that's $1500. Spread that over 46 years equals $32.61 per year.

Gilco33, A bunch of pictures now & a build thread later? I need it all. My '26 build is stalled again and seeing yours is really cool!

Thank you! I'm very interested to see how you assembled the body, what frame mods you made, how deep you sit in it, windshield choice........all of it. This is one of the closest I have seen to where mine is headed, if it is really headed anywhere. There is a lot of early S&G there. Please do a build thread or at least a ton of pictures & comments.

@ 6 Ball, when I return home I will plan to do "sections" of the build ...like body framing, frame alterations, engine/trans etc. It may take a while for me to get to this... also feel free to ask any questions....

Thank you! Chevy roadsters are few & have their own issues. It is always interesting to see how builders deal with them. I'm looking forward to your posts.
