I don’t know if the record is soft, but it looks pretty old. You bringing it to ElMo?

It may look soft, but with Jack Kelly's name on it, it may not be.

The Bonneville record from 2021 is 166 with more than double the distance.

Jack Kelly set that record in a 34 Ford that was stock height in the rear with a point nose. The flathead was injected and used a 39 transmission. If this new one comes to El Mirage and doesn’t run on or set the record I would be very unhappy.

Speaking from many years (40+) of El Mirage, Muroc 3 times, and Bonneville this roadster will never be as nice as it is right now. The craftsmanship and dedication shows in spades but if it isn’t taken apart to every last nut and bolt there will be salt or dirt you can never get out. Its just the way it is…..but it sure wouldn’t stop me putting it on any LSR venue.

Turned out just beautiful. Hope I get to witness it make some runs. I know you have an engine in it but is that the race engine? Look forward to see what you come up with.

i plan to fully dis***emble the car every season and clean and inspect it.

i have the current “race “ engine in it. It will be used to dial the ch***is in and see what our speeds are. Then add more power where we can

The car is even better looking in person. Sorry I wasn't able to introduce myself to you today, Mike.

Got the car up on scales to work on CG/CP balance. Initial numbers are pretty decent and less over all weight than I predicted. Going to add 100lbs to the nose and recheck 2AA2151E-AB71-49CC-943D-B898A6FF2C33.jpeg 0D333436-96B3-4D6E-8620-6A4F4F4AE58F.jpeg

Front to rear -- 40/60 is a good balance.

Was there a driver in the seat?

Here are a couple of charts you might find interesting. The car is a loveable brick, but it did set 7 El Mirage and Bonneville records.

I have been quietly following this build from the beginning and have to say this is one of my favorite threads on the H.A.M.B. The engineering and fabrication is master cl***, as is the creativity of the builder. Packaging all of the systems that are required in such a compact car takes an incredible amount of fore thought.

The color scheme is flat out stunning with the gold ch***is, polished scallop, paint, and lettering. The blue headers are a really nice touch as well. The final scale weights show the true comprehensive nature of this build.

Many Kudo's to Cornfield Customs, I am profoundly impressed!

Thank you. I am humbled at responses like this

Made a ballast tank to hold some lead shot for inside the nose. Added 200 lbs and was able to get the balance to 47.5/ 52.5 and 2891 lbs fully dressed

Now that the car is about wrapped up i need a trailer to move the car around on the salt. So i am designing and building an air bagged trailer to lay flat for ease of loading. Is it big enough for all the tools and spares or is it just for the car? Regardless it's going to be ***s.

  22. Many teams build a trailer like this just to move around the Salt instead of flat towing, Streamliners and lakesters especially. Trust me, if you ever spent 45 minutes steering a roadster from the far end of the course back to the pits on a strap you WILL get it!

Mike, are you going to add a fire extinguisher mount(s) to the trailer and/or push "bar" on the truck?

Do you care to tell us about the push truck? Is it HAMBy?

  27. Have you planned on adding a canopy/shade system for the long lines on the long course? Like the BlowFish and Eddie Umland’s trailers?
