VINTAGE SHOTS FROM DAYS GONE BY! (Part 2)

I bought my first model kit from this place 52 years ago...

 

I hade to lookup this one,,never seen that before.

 

Now that’s a really big shoe.

 

NW 29th Ave. & NW Upshur Ave. - This is the world's biggest log cabin, built for the 1905 Lewis & Clark Exposition. My grandfather, when he was a young plumber's apprentice, helped in its construction. It burned down in 1964. - Portland Oregon

 

1959 - SW Broadway & SW Madison St. - Portland Oregon

 

1944 - SW Salmon St. & SW 1st Ave. - Portland Oregon

 

I miss the Broadway and the Orpheum - they were such elegant theaters to go to when we were kids.

Theatre is the English spelling, theater is American, either way is correct here.

My grandmother used to complain that people never dress up anymore like they used to but wearing a suit and tie to a slot car race is a bit much.

 

Yep! Aurora racing oil and t jet slot cars got real dirty.. So did your hands.. But oh what fun that was...
