I believe this is the Melrose 2% hemicar. Anybody know?

Is it the Donut Cutter parking lot? It seems a lot of MoPar congregate there during the Dream Cruise.

 

This is one of the 2 Plymouths and 2 Dodges in 64 referred to as 2% cars. Unknown if it went to Tom Grove or not. Photos early January 64 at a Chrysler test at Lions in Long Beach. The 2 people looking at engine are Al Eckstrand and Bob Cahill. Notice the Carter carburetors which carried over from the previous successful wedge engines. Later in the year the engines were equipped with Holley carbs. The engine was only marginally better than the wedge and the cars were not raced at Pomona. Further development improved it and Indy Nationals were covered by Hemi's in the final round.

 

Al Vander Woude in an early Flying Dutchman. I've never seen a color shot of this car. It's RED!

2 plymouths and 2 dodges. If it's eckstrand in the pic maybe it's the lawman car. However I thought the lawman car was converted from the max wedge belvedere 2 door sedan I posted earlier in this thread. That's why I'm leaning towards Melrose. Appreciate your knowledge. Thx

Evolution of a super stocker to a blown afx. Not sure if they ran fuel.

 

Former eckstrand 2% hemicar. Never seen the special formula version before. 2nd is aed housley with stack injection. Technically not a super stock but it shows how these cars evolved. @guffey says this one burnt up in a garage fire. The Melrose 2% still exists.
