Any info on this one. Did Petty run an A864? Looks freshly cut or it was set up like the black arrow 65.

A few more of my fav. Love that 2nd shot with the ramchargers 66. Notice how beat to shit the car is in that pic. Doors all janky, ass end sagging, as they were prone to. They must've done alot of reinforcement at some point to straighten it all out.

I heard Selma was a small town...must have been all Mopar. For a short time I owned a white '63 Dodge Polara Max Wedge car that was delivered new there. If I remember correctly it was owned by a guy named Grissom and driven by Melvin Yow. At one time it was lettered the "Wanderer". Gene.

 

Jenkins/ Strickler. The 64 max wedge hardtop

 

The #602 2% car. 1st shot still sporting the max wedge scoop.

 

A #602 SS hemi I'm unfamiliar with. Appears to have no altered wheelbase. Unable to read the class on the quarter.

 

The #603 afx 2% 4spd hemicar.

 

Couple randoms. Appears to be the same #602 SS from above.@guffey Can u post a pic of the restored #603? Also any help straightening this mess out? Any background info?

 

Well the a/fx car started out as 602 a/fx early 1964 when they got the ss hemi car before indy it became 602 ss and the a/fx car became 603 a/fx and stayed that thru the trip to england with the us drag team. It was then sold to george whalen and the ss 64 was relettered to Dave Strickler and taken to the 1965 AHRA and NHRA winter nationals and ran a/mp(this was because they put the 1 piece corning windows from the a/fx car in it to make it illegal for ss) ? how is that
