Hey all I was wondering if anyone is running a full fendered model a with a 2 inch back space front wheel. Any clearance issues?
What width are we talking about? More importantly, what size tire? Is the car lowered? Too many variables here.
My little bro has a full fendered 28 coupe that used to have narrow Halibrands on it. Probably about a 2” back space. Looked just fine, with plenty of clearance to the fender edge. But the key is how wide your axle and brakes are.
My avatar ran 16 x 4.5 Ford wires with 5:50 x 16 on a 4" dropped axle and they rubbed both ways at full turn. My 30 Sport coupe is running 165 x 15 on 15 x 4.5" rims on a 4" dropped axle and rubs on the drag link on a full left turn but is running an F1 steering box rather than a cross steer.
You don’t tell us how wide. A 46” axle might work. A 50” axle probably won’t. And if you have disk brakes, some of them widen the track as well.
You should be OK. It won’t have a “tucked” look, but I don’t think you will rub the edges of the fenders unless you really flatten the spring.
