On to the next fender, at least this only cost time and some consumables. I haven't liked the quotes I have gotten so far on the concrete. But it's sounding like the car wont get any moneys throne at it for a bit.

 

Concrete price is insane nowadays, plan accordingly

 

I am finding that out, that's why the work on the car has to be no cost at this point.

 

I'd use a pair of those 39-40 stude tailights that alchemy sells. It appears the curve of the back fender is really close to the stude lights' curve.

 

I'll have to see if I can find those.

 

What about '41 Stude? I think the Corvettes are too wide for the amount of fender available. At least it looks that way without measuring.

 

Do those have any curve to the mounting surface?

 

I'm not sure, maybe another HAMBer will chime in with more details. Even if they are flat, you could french them in a little.

 

You will need to sell your first and second born to get '41 studes, they are what Alchemy used to make new ones of.

James, Lamberts a great source, but also check out Speedways online catalog, they have tons of options. For the almost 300 dollars for all the parts you need for Lamberts 41 Stude stuff, you might be able to buy one or two over price 409 parts! lol Larry

 

Does anyone have an idea how well these would fit a 41 Pontiac?

 

Not sure about stude lights on the Pontiac but I used 48 Pontiac lights on my 41 pontiac. I can't figure out why G.M. put those original square tailights on a round car!

 

Well I picked up these lights, think they will work.

 

39 Fords, a little smaller version of the Lincoln's I suggested. Those are perfect for what you want. How is that Canadian Pontiac 409 coming!

 

It's safe and sound in my basement.
Did spend some time on the replacement front fender but it has been slow going.
Still waiting on some fair quotes on concrete but did score a used 24x31 carport that I will need to get taller legs for, so on the trip to pickup steel for the legs and will get some 2x6 to build the front frame and take a break from bagging on fenders.
Not sure I would recommend this

 

That is always the problem, buy more Projects, tools and parts and then build more buildings to put them in. Then you have to save up more money so you can actually do something with them. Actually, I have plenty of shop space, I just need to build a nice place to store the cars when their done, my current garage is full. Think it is time to sell some stuff. lol.

 

Guess I did buy another project, now I have to put up the carport.

 

Looks like it will be way cool. I love the 409 4 speed idea.

 

Not much to report still working on other peoples projects and trying to get the rest of the dirt work done and some loads of gravel.
I did however got a radiator that I believe I can make work. Found it on the Holley clearance pages.

 

New set of connecting rods showed up today.

 

So what’s wrong with the Manley rods do they have too many runs on them or did you change the stroke

Ever thought about running the lights point side up just to be different?

 

I was thinking about doing that. It almost looks like it would be a better fit that way.

 

Made a road trip today and picked up the rear wheels.

 

I think the fit is prefect.

 

Now to make a decision on white walls in or out.

 

Looks older and campier (is that a word?) with the WWs out, but looks meaner and all-business with the black walls out.
