Best we can tell it's to help gasket surfaces seal. Never seen it done this extensive. Yeah was fun for sure. If you never have been its worth going.

Some updates... Got the new thrust washers in finally only to find out the OD of the block is smaller than the OD of the new washers... FUN. So ground down the outside till its all within .002 of eachother. Then had to lap the face down a bit, Got the .004 feeler gauge to barely go in between the bearing and crank so I think I am there. Cut some oil grooves in the new washer and chamfered the edges to keep from wiping the film hopefully.

So now onto some of the orig list of things and why the motor came out.

1934 trans I rebuilt and got the clings adapter etc. So here she is going back in with all the upgraded parts. Glad I put all the tower and brackets on before going in the car cause they would have sucked to install in the car for the pedal adapter.

Stay tuned for more banger goodness...

A little update, so I had been torn with how to make the gravity feed work correctly. After alot of number crunching etc. I have 3/8" hardline all running downhill to both carbs. The volume of flow overcomes the shortfall in pressure that everyone fights with smaller lines. Its actually overkill but better on safe than sorry. Alot of small parts later and its all bolted together, I am just waiting on a carb stud kit to finish the intake system up and adjust linkage etc.

    Here are some highlight photos...

Ultimately I am holding out for a Riley 2 port downdraft... Until I find one the burns will be the hot ticket as it is an orig. Burns not the repop.....

@stubbsrodandcustom, this whole thread (along with the car itself) is a work of art. Thanks for sharing.

Nice build. I've been following from the start. What are your choices for jetting and power valves for the dual 94's?

So after I got home I found a bucket list car.... So in pursuit of bucket list cars this one has to go.

A deal was made, and he wanted it chopped before transporting to New York.

Due to my day job and time constraints, I had a buddy do the chop. He knocked it out of the park as always. 4" Haircut changed the look drastically. Faked the Patina back in for the chop areas... Matches ok... Look forward to these folks taking the Flying brick up north and Racing on the beaches.

So this will be the end of this thread for now. Hope everyone enjoyed the banger coupe. This is not my last banger, But in pursuit of bucket list cars we have to part with things to have room for others. Until I get more space I am limited to 2.

Thanks man... Its convertible top material, I had it done when I went to hotrod showdown last year. It snaps on the sides and rear and has a slide on channel up front. perfectly water tight and worked great.

Sorry for the late reply. Depends on how strong the motor is you are running, good base line is 3.5" PV and 48 jet size, run it and check plugs and drivability. If the PV opens too soon the midrange may fall in its face or foul out the plugs and smoke. Mine liked the 3.5 pv and ultimately I was at 52 Jets I think at the end when I sold it. I think there was a little more power to be had on the top end with a bigger jet still but the 52 was great for street pounding on that motor.
