Hello everyone. The name is Robert and I am building a 1946 GMC pickup, again. I got this truck as a young teenager in the early 90's and did a frame off resto rod style build with a 350/350 combo. I got it running and drove it for about 8 months before shipping out to Army basic training in '95. My dad drove it for a little bit and once it looked like was going to be a lifer it got parked in his backyard to wait on my return. Well after 22 years in the Army and another couple to get settled into a house of my own, it's time to start again. I was a diesel mechanic in the Army, so this time around I am going with a Duramax/Allison combo with a resto rod feel. I'll start a build thread, if that's allowed, to chronicle my progress. Although it will be slow, it will be awesome to do this all over again with my 2 boys (6 & 7).

Man that thing looks sweet. Nice a low. Can't wait to get mine back in shape. Starting over from scratch, so tearing it down to the frame to get it all boxed in and the suspension right.
