I have been waiting to see this film since it first came out, but could never seem to fit it into the budget.

So...finally I get to see it on YouTube and it's great! Nothing but praise from me. Wish I'd have bought the DVD earlier.

I have BobK's personal copy of the DVD (got it at his estate sale) and if anyone would like to have it, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I can't say I personally got into the movie, but I like the idea of movies being made revolving around early hotrods so I'll still give a thumbs up for the effort.

  6. Just watched the movie. I liked it very much, yea I have a sensitive side but will deny that. I thought it was a good story and very well done. Some familiar cars and people in this movie as well. I give this a thumbs up and I am sticking to it. Till next time, see you at the movies.:D

Her roadster was actually built in Wisconsin. The quick build ( by a younger hot rodder), used a junkyard SBC.
The builder drove it to the Louisville, Nats. on it’s maiden voyage and the engine shit the bed there. He bought a new crate engine there and the NSRA safety crew helped him install it, and he drove it home!

  8. A lot of hype but part of the HAMB history. When I said howdy to her at BTT50s she acted like she was done playing hot rod betty and ready to go home

  9. Back in 2011, we did a "Cruise In/ Movie Premier" at our theater featuring "Deuce of Spades", it was her first commercial showing and it helped kick off her coast to coast promotion of herself and the movie. My opinion of her and the movie was o.k., I guess but she sure didn't impress anyone with her attitude! She pissed Sue off right away, coming in and trying to tell her how to run her theater! lol
I seem to remember her saying something about Ryan banning her from the H.a.m.b. but I don't remember the details.

Think she may have been exaggerating a little.

  11. Faith wasn't banned, she just got a few threads deleted and obviously took offence, a member ain't participating if they don't get a thread deleted every now and then.

I followed along with her making the movie, she did it all, IMHO it wasn't the greatest movie but it was on par with all the B flicks from the past, with that said I was pretty impressed and I bought the movie and the film was better than I thought it would be. HRP

  12. Like I posted , I liked the movie. Seems there are mixed feelings about this woman who made it. I never meet her sooo...

If one likes hotrods, racing on back roads at night with a bit of a love story thrown in, and typical shit that went on in the '50s car scenes, it's a winner. I watch my copy once a year and it's exciting every time. Dementia is good for some things ! LOL

  14. As I said, I don't recall the details so her saying that she was banned may have been her way of saying that she was censored by Ryan or it's quite possible that it was a figment of my imagination, after all, I'm nearly 75 and I have slept since then!!

From what I remember, she was relentless with her hyping the movie and self promotion.

I got rid of quite a bit of it.

If we didnt, we would have been nostril deep in it.

Every once in a while, somebody will come along with a business plan that involves using the HAMB as a means to an end.

Most of the time, those people get really upset when you dont let them... :)

I tried watching it last night. Not my cup of tea.
    Cars were cool.

I'll look it up and give it a try. Not opposed to a chick flik now and then.

On the subject of the HiboyGirl's self-aggrandizement/narcissistic behavior - a guy I know married one like her. She perceived herself to be quite a pianist and was good at shooting orders and using willful force to get what she wanted. He ended up paying for her to do a music CD with pro session musicians, a theater performance to which they struggled to sell tickets and all kinds of me me me stuff. One of those tornado marriages.

  20. I'd rather watch a good movie with no cars in it than a bad one full of hot rods.

  21. It was fun being part of it...She used my car (and me) in one of the scenes. It's no Hollywood Knights or American Graffiti but it's a nice film.
