Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 31Vicky with a hemi, Apr 18, 2023.

  1. What do the guts of the lower tool mount look like ?

What’s under the spanner nut ?
    What’s in there?
    Thanks

Mine looks like the one on the right.

Under the big nut there is basically a wedge that puts even pressure on all 4 sides of the lower tool, so it stays centered even if you tighten it.

Try sending a message to the moderator(s). I have a gmail address and have been a member for years. AOL addresses are flagged as spam by most forums. Gmail seems to be following suit.

  8. Looked at those,
the TAP collets are round on top to hold the shank and square on the bottom .

Those are for tool holders in a CNC mill.
Most collets are hard. If you can find the holder like a 5c block and a local shop with a wite EDM, you could have what ever sized square you want burned into them.
