    upload_2023-4-21_4-28-17.png Archie Ary's Flying Saucer
    Hello,

When I saw some old drag racing photos and read some information about Archie Ary’s A/Fuel Coupe, I had to try and draw it for my collection. As strange as the body was for competition, drawing it was difficult to get the angles right. But, it was and would be a classic for a hot rod museum or display at a car show.

We did see Archie Ary in competition, but it was in his FED, during the 1959-60 timeline.

    vs. staging last incident...

But we never got the chance to see the “Flying Saucer” in action. We read about it, acknowledge the build and competition news from the Drag News weekly paper, but did not see it in person.

"Archie Ary's "Flying Saucer" Crosley bodied Fuel Coupe at Inyokern. Archie, who ran a garage in Colton, CA, first ran a Flathead in the car, then later replaced it with a Chrysler." Thanks, @296ardun

I was originally going to color it Black, as most photos located, were B/W and the information did not say what color it was painted. So, using my trusted colorizing program, it gave me an accurate ground and color background. Then it made the Crosley, Purple. To this day, it will remain Purple until a full color shot comes forward for recognition. YRMV

It's been a while since I've posted on the FAS...and as always, if anyone has any use of my old artwork, feel free to use it.
