    Here's the short story.
Doing some long overdue maintenance on my high milage Deuce Roadster
which includes front brakes. One of the original {USA} front wheel cylinders was leaking so I decided to replace both with new wheel cylinders. The new cylinders are now import quality so of course one of them leaked really bad during the bleeding process. Discovered the problem was the cup in the cylinder.

At this point I'm not crazy about the poor quality of this import stuff!
What I would like to do is just freshen up my original wheel cylinders. To do the rebuild I need 1-3/8 and 1 inch wheel cylinder cups. Would anyone know where I can get the cups in these sizes?
Also wondering what other have done when they needed wheel cylinders.

I can't give you a specific location to get them from, but I believe I got my last ones from NAPA. That was 10 years ago I suppose, but I would hope they won't be hard to find.

The new stuff is poor I’ll agree, I actually reused the old cups in a couple new cylinders, I had 4 old sets to choose from, very glad I saved them. I’ve also had reasonable luck getting descent rebuild kits and brake hones are cheap as well

  5. P.S. You can't go to the parts counter and order them by Vehicle but the Brand/part number still works.

    Just went thru that.
Here’s a funny one. I needed a good number to give to my parts guy for wheel cyl. So I search Rock Auto under 40 Ford. None only repair kits. Then I search online some more. All number I see are what ever number all the online suppliers use. So I type that number into goggle then Rock Auto pop’s up with Dorman and Raybestost available and in stock. Now I have my numbers needed. :)

Parts houses used to carry an ***ortment of cups in all kinds of sizes. Used to be able to just go in and match them up. I don't know if you can still do that. I've had good luck with Centric cylinders so far. Keep a close eye on ebay, too. I have seen listings for cups of different sizes on there. I recently bought cups on ebay for one of my cars. Genuine Raybestos. Try Kanters, also.
You might try C.W. Moss, too. Best to call because they have more than what's listed on the website.

  9. Beat me to it! Great #s to have handy. I find myself looking at my Wagner brake book all the time. In fact, one of them is my mouse pad right here!

Lots of Dorman cups and kits on ebay. I just looked only to find that even Dorman stuff is made in China. That's the world we live in now so we might as well get used to it. I would ***ume Dorman cups would still be better than most others, however. :(

Ron try NAPA. I’ve been very successful getting early stuff. My local Napa dealer has a great guy on the counter. He tracks stuff down for me all the time.

I ONLY use Raybestos brand wheel cylinders in early Fords. I've never had an issue.

It should be noted that it is likely that the "import" wheel cylinders used by the op @ronnieroadster are machined wrong during manufacturing and this is why they leak. It's a common issue.

Today I was able to get good quality USA made wheel cylinder cups at NAPA. They had four of each size in stock plus I ordered an additional box of each size to put in stock. Wont have to worry about this again.
Thanks to everyone for your guidance.

    Hi Bob
Seeing my roadster and the altered running in 1961 was simply amazing. The additional surprise was finally seeing the art work on the deck lid of the Deuce it matches exactly what I had been told.
