    I see you all had great fun and I am astonished that so many members of a message board that is about cars can find so many ways to amuse themselves that there palms must be bright red from friction. JMHO Oh that means Just my humble opinion.

    I don’t know, but a mention of what PP you have (***ume FH?) would help out those that know.

    P/P = Pressure Plate; F/H = Flat Head [as in Ford v8 L head engine, 32 to 53]. At least on this planet. I'm 74 and this terminology has been on here for a long, long, long time.

    Seb,
    If you have a 9" PP, enough said. That would be 228.6 mm for our metric friends.

  14. I had to think a little bit, but was able to figure out what the question was.

    What I never have been able to figure out is why someone looking for help will post a message that is so ambiguous that few will understand its meaning.

  15. Mine is only 7" but some girls like 'em that big around. :D

    A 9.5" pressure plate would not be the same diameter as a 9" pressure plate. The idea being that the 9.5 would handle a 9.5" clutch and need to have a bearing surface large enough to handle the bigger clutch.

    As for bolt spacing that would probably be determined by the vehicle manufacturer. I bolted a 9.5" (as advertised) clutch on an old ford in place of a 9" clutch and pressure plate once. The guy at the parts place said that the truck used the bigger clutch and that both truck and car used the same flywheel. So same housing bigger bearing surface.

    @porkn******,
    You measuring diameter or cir***ference? I think you forgot to divide by 3.14. that makes it 2.23". Not a standout in a crowd.

    The 9 1/2 " pressure plate AKA P/P is for a car and is short. I just wanted to find out if the 9" Pressure plate has the same bolt spacing. I am in the process of re drilling my 53 Mercury Pressure Plate AKA P/P. And to confuse things I have to use a ( 10" long you could have fun with that ) style when it is coupled to a 39 top loader transmission.

  20. Yes confusing.

    The 39 transmission has a longer input shaft than the later car, correct? the 39 is not going to be the same bolt circle as the later pressure plate.

    Before you end it and take the internet at its word, now that we know it’s for a FH Ford trans, double check your finding with a call to Mac Van Pelt. Should find his number on VanPelt sales.com.
    Maybe it’s VPsales.com? I forget now, it’s bedtime;)

    I believe that the OP had a legitimate question but got a lot of questionable feedback due to the use of cryptic terminology when he could have used straight up English. While this did separate the experts from the helpful and curious and want to learns, it did open up the dialog to a variety of sometimes off-topic responses. Now the OP has found their answer through an Internet search (always accurate, of course) which is maybe where they should have started and we are relieved from further commenting..

    WTF? Just when we were having fun!

    Apparently @jimvette59 is the illegitimate love child of Sister Mary ****nic. "NO FUN ALLOWED OR I'LL CRACK YOUR LITTLE ******* KNUCKLES!!" Seriously, being a smart *** ball buster is more traditional than Offen-****in-hauser aluminum heads. Way to go, maybe get a wet blanket for a seat cover. Or are you the past AV dude with a pocket protector full of pens in junior high. Which ever one, you ain't no fun. You better not break the speed limit in your new hot rod, or I'm gonna tell on you...o_O:eek::rolleyes::confused:
