Best saying EVER! I love that!

My favorite hot rod book, Hot Rods & Customs of the 1960s by Andy Southard, Jr. (which coincidentally has a nasty A roadster with the rears hanging out) has a blurb somewhere about mixed wheels or trying out styles or something of that sort.

The idea always stuck with me because these days we get caught up in everything matched, symmetrical, etc. but there was really that sentiment you mention that hot rod wheels go on the back, first.

It does have a radiator! It's just set way back with the engine.

Automatic? Tranny cooler. Not all hot rods have 3 pedals. Love the tires and wheels!

There's a few cars in this book (with other details) that will make you think the same... but that's another post for a different thread. Haha. Plenty of cool stuff in these pages, though.

Mocked the 61 econobox with the jc penny's slicks in the back...took about 5 chunks of 4x4 lumber

Getting closer. The engine has finally started being built after sitting down there for 9 months..

I always narrowed rear ends and offset the wheels to avoid hangin tires, but this thread has changed me. All those mis-spent hours of my youth tucking tires under the car.

@BRENT MAGGI got me pumped up with his A coupe pic and it inspired me to snap a pick of mine.

These are hanging more than they will actually hang, once I’m done hanging them.

Is that a Sedan turned into a Roadster Pickup? Tops of doors don’t look like Roadster doors, more like what a lot of Coupester doors look like.

You need to pour some Clorox on the street and do a big Smokey burnout, it will clean up those slicks and impress the neighbors.

My goal is to prep 60 feet or so of the street in front of the house with Radir rubber.
