Cleaning out the shelves and came across this guy. Any ideas? During that time period I was working
on 50's Chevy truck, and SBC's. At first glance I thought it would work to use as a front mount for a
sbc into a 50's Chevy 6 truck or car. But who knows...I may have grabbed it just 'cause it was cool.

Chevy used a front mount like that on trucks 60-62 with 283, I believe.

Also they used a similar mount on the front of big blocks in medium duty trucks, but it looks a bit different.

Thanks guys....front mount for a sbc into a 6 cyl engine compartment seems like a good fit.
Using the bellhousing side mounts it would provide a 3pt support.

Looks like a front engine mount for a 50's GMC six cylinder

With the extra bolt holes in the mount, it looks like it may fit more than one application.

I always thought that was a great motor mount system.

    Performance wise...
I'm thinking that any given ch***is might not twist as much being subjected to high torque loads in the middle of the ch***is rather than at the very front?

    And more room for exhaust.

Shows also for the 348" and 409", which would make sense in a '61 / '62 truck setup.....
