  19. That IS a nice Model A Speedster, but it is NOT a Montier-Ford. It was built some years ago in Argentina where there is quite an industry recycling old American sedans into Speedsters, It was then sold through a dealer named MecanicImport in Belgium as just that, a Model A Speedster. Here is their website:
    https://www.mecanicimport.com/
Later, an owner in Belgium decided to give it some fake history and applied for FIVA papers claiming it is a Montier-Ford. Despite being Right-Hand-Drive and even though the chassis number has an RPA prefix (from the Ford Argentina factory) they convinced FIVA (who certainly should know better) and it was given an official 'passport'. It was then sold again to a Porsche dealer in Spain who presumably believed the new identity and it was occasionally brought out for historic events. When I contacted the owner some years ago he thought I might be interested in buying it and forwarded copies of the FIVA papers, but when I told him it was not a Montier, just another fake Speedster I don't think he believed me. I did report the facts to FIVA some time ago with the initial reply they would "look into it". I followed that up early last year before publishing the Montier book to see if there was any development but received no reply; I suspect they were too embarassed, after all they are recognised as the worldwide authority and FIVA papers supposedly guaranteeing a car's identity can add value to the car's selling price. Anyway, that car has been for sale for a few years now around various European dealers, last heard of back in Belgium with this dealer:
    https://www.lmsportcars.be/product/3496297/ford-model-a-montier-special
I don't know what is the asking price but a nicely built Speedster like that should be around om/$20k I would guess.
Here is a photo of another from the same source in Argentina; this one was also sold through the same dealer, last heard of in France. 05.JPG 02.JPG

I am not a historian by any means but that's to bad about the misrepresentation but yeah its obvious why its done...I just appreciate the workmanship, the diversity of styles of go fast with the global celebration of the NAAuto throughout the Hamb era...

Thanks for the extended story despite the shady stuff...

Places have reputations that can take a major hit when this happens...
