    They made a 1-71 too.

  10. Kinda what I thought.
    It was advertised as a 4:71, but for $50 it didn’t matter. He didn’t have change for a 20, so he said $40 was cool :) IMG_1371.jpeg

    That thing would just fit on an Austin A-series engine. 1275 cc of romping stomping 50s British technology... No that I think about it, a 1-71 would be sufficient. 1275 is about 78 cubic inches. Just a slight overdrive needed. Oh well...

    Hey, Anthony;
    That little(even a "big" 6) Stude is *sooo* deserving!

    I would drive that !!!:p I have a 4-71 collecting dust that I thought would befitting a Chevy 250 six but a little snotty 283 with a huffed would be fun. Good on you.

    Barney Navarro ran one in his Roadster with a de-stroked Flathead, 180 inches as I remember.

    Correct, but that 3-71 DD the blower was originally fitted to was a two stroke, it inhaled that displacement every revolution of the crank. The flipside was that the blower provided basic scavenging and no more. I'd pick a point in the middle and say with a proper rebuild and rotor seals it ought to support 4-5 lbs on a 300ci sized motor.

  21. I have a complete Cragar "V" belt drive and manifold for a 3-71 blower. I also have 2, 3-71 blowers. Someday if I feel ambitious, I will install the set-up on my 265" SBC engine in my roadster. I know the 3-71 was designed for 213 cubic inch engines, but, so what. The cool factor of seeing a 3-71 Cragar "V" belt set-up is what is important to me. I'm not trying to be a race car, I'm just adding period correct equipment to my roadster that was built in the late 1950's.

    Any pictures of the drive set-up ? I'm curious about the length of the snout as well as the pulley set-up.

    Well worst case, maybe have a polishing class or two. Put it on display at the school.
    40 bucks? Even at 50 I’d have bought it without a current or future need for it.
    Hopefully the intake manifold is in the same price range.
