If you have a factory shop manual it will show how to adjust the steering gear. I have never seen one that you couldn't adjust. Was that flipper on the front cover a timing chain tensioner?

I am not sure what the purpose of the flipper was. Still haven’t figured that out. The 57 cover didn’t have it so I’m guessing it’ll be fine. I’m anxious to see how the steering is with the p/s finally working

I am almost finished. Should be done tomorrow and everything will come together. Just have to get some new belts that fit and install the power steering hoses. I can’t use the bottom half of the fan shroud anymore bc the 57 pump sits slightly lower and it rubs but it should be fine. It says on the pump use mopar type A oil for the ps fluid. I can’t find a clear answer online. Is it just motor oil?

My understanding is it is Type A tranny fluid, now obsolete, there is a modern fluid called A but not the same.

I ended up just throwing some dex Merc tranny fluid in and it. It is amazing to finally have working p/s

I got new window seals for the side windows. I am wondering if and what kind of glue I need to use?

So I picked up a true 345(S26 A) casting # and am wondering if the tall deck will fit in my 52 sportsman, cant find much info about it. Anyone have any ideas, thoughts?

...one for one interchange as complete units. Minor differences with exhaust pipe and such. The 'flipper' was to control t-chain flopping around when it stretches. Major score on the Edelbrock by the way.
