rebuilding after the crash

  1. I'm not all that tech savvy either, but I have noticed is the layout is usually different between phones and computers for sites which screws me up also. A PC seems to be a little more user friendly to use for old farts. If I were phone dependent I'd probably be a little better with it.

  2. I'm on emergency call right now. Time is very limited. I should be able to get to everyone in the next few days about the shirts.

You have to post the link to the youtube video, you can't copy the video and post the copy.

  4. Click that share button, copy link, then put it right into the message you are typing, don't use those goofy link icon things, just paste it right after your last word you typed

  6. It's 75 and sunny at the Grove. Time to kick off the 2023 season. 20230507_100636.jpg

  7. Car ran great. Nothing broke. Post race inspection was perfect. Easy pass. 1.22 60 foot. Left at a idle foot braking. 5.26 / eighth mile. Two foot wheelie carried out 100 feet straight as a string. Rear wheels most likely tripped the 60 foot clock.
Now that I'm done with that I will be contacting everyone about the shirts. I picked up 50 flat rate envelopes. It's the cheapest way to ship them.

  8. I sent out a pm to everyone that requested a shirt. Check your messages. For those that wanted a shirt but didn't pm me. I need your size and shipping address. Thanks.

  9. Please include your size and shipping address with your payment. Several guys are missing one or both. A guy going by 1966 is missing both and his comments are shut off. I can't contact him. I don't know if he is a hamb member or purchased through Facebook. Contact me.

  16. Thanks for posting.

  17. Weather permitting I'm going to the Grove with a hotter tune up. Two more degrees of lead and six percent more blower over drive.
    Timing total 47
    Overdrive 20 percent
    Bruno 175 lbs
That should make the hemi very happy.

??? Bruno 157 lbs. lock up pressure ?
& did you install a data logger ?

  19. The pressure can be adjusted on the Bruno unit. The Bruno couples the power front the converter to the trans. Adjusting the pressure effects the amount of slip. 175lbs is starting to get tight. This results in more mph farther down track. Lower pressure is used for slick tracks as it provides some slip. No data logger at this time on the nitro side. I'm doing it the old way. Reading plugs and examining broken parts. No money for a logger at this time they are about 7500.00 with sensors. I do have a 24 channel logger on the efi side. It's built into the fast system.

  20. Received my shirt today. It's really a nice shirt, good quality. The art work is fantastic! Thanks Brian.

  25. Well that was a exiting day. The plan was to see how far i could tune it up yet still make it stick.First hit with the car hopped up resulted in tire spin about ten feet out. I had removed the radiator; fans; waterpump and water from the engine last night. These changes removed over 100 pounds. I started to question the move do to the tire spin. All the weight was removed from the rear of the car. I was thinking maybe I had upset the balance. I needed to calm things down. I took out 2 degrees of timing and six percent over drive on the blower. It responded with a big wheelie and a 1.21 sixty foot time tripped with the rear tires. It got out of shape a hundred feet out going up on one rear wheel. I had to lift to keep it off the wall. There was some seious driving going on. The next car was not so fortunate. It spun in the same spot. It went up on the wall and rolled several times. It bounced back onto the track and rolled a few more times. We were on the return road and this all happened in front of us. We grabbed the fire extinguishers and ran to the car. Fuel was pouring out onto the track. The kill switch was ripped off the car so I couldn't kill the power. The car was upside down. The driver was tangled up in the cage. I got him free and out. Luckily the car didn't start on fire. He was OK. The car not so much.
The car will get serviced along with a bearing inspection tomorrow. It was a good day.

  26. Photo from yesterday on my Facebook page. This high tech stuff is more than I can do. I can't get it to transfer off fb to the hamb. Cool pictures to see.

  29. Alen Smith Photography. He lives just down the street from me. My wife has cut his hair since he was a infant. Cool guy. I gave him a new shirt. He asked what he owes me. I said just get some good shots. I think it was worth it.
