A good friend of mine, that is relocating to Florida, was a collector of DeSoto Airflow automobiles, these are some of the hulks that have been sitting outside on his property.

These were all parts cars for other various projects.

I was up at his place today to get a few shots of them before they will be hauled away to a friend of ours property, not that far away.

Ghost's, from an era long ago.

  3. ^^^ I easily recognized that it had to be somewhere in Washington or Oregon just from the PNW "barbed wire" and the PNW patina on the cars.

Can't see that I've ever seen one in real life, let alone a pile of them in someone's backyard rotting away.

Indeed, the DeSoto Airflow and the Chrysler Airflow's were ahead of thier time, but failed in the market place. My friend Pete, had some nice DeSoto's

Here are a few shots of the cars that were inside of the shop.
    Thanks from Dennis.

    Hey @uncle buck
Yes indeed that is serial #00001.
Pete has had it, for many years.

As you know, at the moment there are still a lot of things, and logistics, that have to be dealt with as he is about to depart to Florida.

So cool that you got to meet him!

I have posted this picture before, its a picture of Pete talking to Squeak Bell at Squeak's place in Bakersfield.

Back in 2016, in better days when Pete was in better health, and able to get around.

    Thanks from Dennis.

  27. Oddly enough, the yard in question is about two hours south of where I live.

  28. Does the owner ever do anything with them or is it one of those "I'm gonna fixer up one of these days" situations?

  29. No clue. Although I suspect you may be right about the “I’m going fix them up one day “ situation.

  30. Is that the yard that's visible on the east side of I-5?
