I was just looking at the brakes, and thinking about ordering some shoes, cylinders, and hoses....which is all it appears to need. Stock is fine for me, too.

 

You don't go as fast as I do

 

My 60 had drums, i rebuilt everything and they were fine in the flatlands of the great state of Indiana. The 57 was converted to disc in the 90’s and i saw no need to go back to drums. But had it still been drums might have left ‘em.

 

Quick or fast? Rear wheel speed or ground speed?

drum brakes are ok up to a hundred or so, but over 120 a guy might like to have disks.

I’ve always heard about the Hamb before joining a few months back , didn’t realize it was Vettes too, very cool my cousin has an 84

 

pre-65 vettes.

shift works makes retro shifters for turbo 350 in a c1 . i pulled the four speed out of my wifes 61 and put in a turbo 350. summitt sells retro shifters

 

my 56 as well

 

then put in highway gears in the rear from a later impala

 

Thanks for the info on the shifter, I was wondering if someone made one. But I'm going to see about getting a 4 speed, after all....
