Hot Rods Best repop 32 firewall

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Nailhead Jason, May 18, 2023.

  1. I’m currently searching for an original 32 firewall, but in the event I can’t find a usable one, I’m considering a new repro one. What has anyone have on input for the repro ones available? Brookville or United Pacific? Another brand? How do they fit? Any major issues? Overal quality. I like the look of the United one. The brookville flat one has its advantages. It will be going in my 32 Tudor, fenderless on stock dimension frame with a 259 stude motor. Any input is appreciated.

Find a beater fire wall with the proper body flange and build a flat fire wall IMG_5522.jpeg IMG_4958.jpeg

If you seen this one. History, flattened in the 70’s then cut in the early 2000’s and engine was set back. I brought engine forward and rebuilt firewall with what was left. That’s why it’s missing 4 dimples. 07BC4A00-86EA-4F18-8B78-9A4B06BA2C79.jpeg

I had a replacement one and forgot who made it but it was OK. The lines on the stampings aren't as sharp and dimensions a bit off . It would be great for a streetrod:D

I've used United Pacific, Brookville, and currently have one from Roadster Supply. It fits my Brookville roadster good. I also used one from Roadster Supply for my last deuce pickup and it fit good. Speedway and UP are over priced. I have a theory that all the firewalls with the black ep coating are made at the same factory for different importers?

  6. I was looking at the roadster supply ones and wondered if it was a United Pacific. But I’ve seen some of the black ones that don’t appear to have all the d nuts welded in or the radiator stay brackets. A bunch don’t have the throttle pedal hole. Which isn’t a big deal but those also don’t have the revel around the throttle pedal hole.

  7. I’d be into that, I have the upper half of one but since I have so much subrail and floor work to do I really would like one that is straight and has the feet so I can bolt it to the frame, then fit the body to the firewall so I can get the body square with the floor and subrails as I get them built.

Yup, seems as every thing evolves around the fire wall, good luck

I’ve used two Brookville flat ones in ‘32’s with SBC’s and they fit and worked just fine.

  10. Brookville and UP both look pretty good. But at the price they are now, I should be able to find an original for the same or maybe less.

  11. The United Pacific is in my opinion the best original style repo but it is pricy,

If I was going to use flathead I would go with the original style, If I was going with anything that required any firewall surgery I would opt for a Brookville fire wall, they fit well and there is enough room for your bigger V8's. HRP

  12. I’ve seen several brookville firewalls with the feet not attached. Can you get the brookville firewall with the feet already attached? Are the hole there and then are not attached just for shipping? With this being sick a crucial part to get throngs square and true this is my number one concern.

  13. I've ordered 2 Brookville firewalls and the feet were not attached, you might try calling them and ask if they can ship a firewall with the feet attached, I never had a problem attaching them. HRP

Did a brookville flat one once. With a bit of work it was ok, BUT I really couldn’t get over the look. I really started to dislike the look of the stainless radiator support rod brackets.
I’ve been lucky finding originals and I’m always on the lookout for the next one. ;) And speaking of that, there’s one in the classifieds that I wish was a little closer to me.
