Not really a concept car, but a clay mock up of my dream truck! I mean how cool! FB_IMG_1666052553510.jpg

Clip over car hub caps also in the photo. Interesting. They should have used that grille.

Just saw this ancient thread. Started at the beginning. Concept cars are a lot like TV and movie sets.....just enough to give the public the idea. all smoke and mirrors ...very few with and substance. There was a display of Star Trek TV props and costumes on display at the Mall of America. I took my my Trekkie wife over for a look. I could believe how cheesy that stuff looked in real life....and how cool I thought it was while watching it on the tube.

The legacy from the Harley Earl/ Mitchell era, and the creations the A brothers and Gene Winfield built later....

  14. I read many years ago that some of these one-off cars were hastily built for deadlines and or shows. Behind the scenes where it didn't show, structures were made of plywood and whatever they got their hands on. Some of these great looking wonders were far from being road worthy.

Thanks. I was wondering if it was a concept or custom car.

63 Italien started life as a 62 Bird convertible. Ford contracted Detroit Steel Tubing (not sure of the name) to build as a show/concept.
